Music is the central place where Yan Lohendra’s projects take form.
He writes lyrics, composes, arranges, records, mixes and produces his own songs, building each project from the inside: words, melodies, guitars, bass, drums, synthetic textures, voices, images and atmosphere.
His music moves through dark art rock, alternative rock, experimental songs, urban visions, inner voices and cinematic soundscapes. It is built as a world rather than a collection of isolated tracks.
The current main project is YLSHAA.
YLSHAA is an artistic persona and singer created and directed by Yan Lohendra. Her debut album, DUSKWOKEN, is a dark art-rock album about alienation, guilt, control, strange rituals, urban nightmares, inner collapse and the search for a way out of the human dream.
DUSKWOKEN was written, composed, arranged and produced by Yan Lohendra. The album combines guitars, bass, drums, synthetic sounds, processed voices and a strong visual direction.
Through YLSHAA, music becomes more than sound: it becomes a presence, a face, a voice, a world of signs and fractures.
Earlier projects, including Tashaa and Weirder Words, also explore voices, doubles, strange words, dark humour, inner conflict and the unstable border between song, persona and fiction.
Lohendra’s music is made to be listened to as songs, but also entered as an atmosphere.
